Space and time to connect

I recently designed and delivered an away day which focused on giving the delegates time to connect and share.

There was very little content and lots of exercises allowing people to talk. It turned out to be a brilliant event which once we got away from needing outputs or flipcharts with actions, then we were able to get to know each other.

Many of the delegates hadn’t met up for years due to the Covid crisis.

We focused on sharing strengths and saying thank you. I took them onto the roads for a street wisdom session which opened their eyes to connecting with nature and the world around them. Loved how one spotted the beauty in moss growing on the side of a wall in a random pattern. Amazing.

So sometimes just connecting and getting to be human is all we need from an away day.
