Lego for coaching is seriously good fun!
Lego is increasingly being used more and more within a variety of L&D interventions and I have wanted to use Lego particularly in my coaching practice.
This week, I had the opportunity to spend a few hours exploring Lego play. I found it be a great way for the coachee to visualise their issue and to help them to contextualize the situation. Lego seemed to remove barriers that potentially exist when using coaching questions. It allowed using to immerse ourselves and even move a variety options that the coachee had created.
Having used Lego when designing and delivering programmes, I have again found this useful. Individuals may not like to draw or paint, feeling this can be exposing of a lack of talent, but everyone can build a car using Lego!I will continue to use this in my practice and explore using it more withing coaching.
I would be interested to hear how you have got on with this !
